22 weeks, on the other side

I don't remember if I wrote about feeling down or not but it seems to be getting a little better. I had a good cry the other night and honestly, I think that helped. I've been having trouble getting to sleep though. I'm uncomfortable, my mind races....So instead of laying there tossing and turning tonight I'm just staying up. Luckily, I'm working evenings now so I don't have to get up early.

Baby boy is moving more and more every day. And I feel like I've grown a lot in the past couple of weeks.

We're getting our Christmas tree this weekend! I'm so excited. It will be here before we know it and it will be 2013. WOW. So far this pregnancy has flown. I have a feeling that after the holidays, it will all slow down. Dun, Dun, Dun....haha.

Here's my 22 week update:

Cravings: Still hooked on orange juice and pickles and Pepsi although I don't drink that often.

Baby size: About 11 inches long, and 15 oz. (average) Almost a pound!

Happy Things:  more & more movement

Sad things/Worries: just being down

Weight Gain:  12 lbs.

Aches and Pains: Headaches, starting to swell, had to take off my wedding rings

Mood: grouchy, down

Movement: more during the day now

Maternity clothes? yep

Sleep:  This week has been rough for falling asleep

That really grinds my gears...part 1

Since becoming pregnant, my hormones have made me more open and less the one who bites her tongue. So here are some things that really BUG me! Don't be hurt.

1. Hashtags on facebook. If they linked to subjects like on twitter, I would be totally okay with it. THEY DON'T! It's just a bunch of words running together with a pound sign in front of it. Yeah. Go tweet.

2. Unsolicited advice. Becoming pregnant brings this on even worse than normal. If I want your advice, I'll ask. Just because this is my first child, doesn't mean I'm ignorant. Some things I know nothing about and I do ask people.

3. Bad grammar. This has always been a pet peeve of mine. I realize everyone isn't great at English, but basic spelling and grammar isn't that difficult. I don't expect you to be a scholar or a writer. Take five minutes and learn the difference between your and you're.

Oddly, that is all I can think of right now. Expect more later.

Cheese & pickles

Since I'm not always the best about posting frequently, I thought this would be a good time. I was laying in bed almost asleep when my stomach knocked. So here I am. I got out the crackers, a block of cheddar cheese and a pickle. Great midnight snack huh? I figure it could be worse.

I find it funny that as soon as I get comfortable in bed, I start to feel the little kicks. I'm ready for bed and little Cooper is up & moving.

So next time you're up at midnight, can't sleep and hungry, grab some cheese, crackers and pickles. And Claussen are the only pickles you should eat. Yum.

Our precious baby BOY!

Today I am 20 weeks 6 days. Tomorrow 21 weeks. Wowza, time is flying. And my belly is growing.

Everyone who is reading this probably knows, but Baby Baldwin is a boy and his name will be Cooper Grant. The name I have loved since before I was pregnant. My mom, Tim & I were all a little shocked at the ultrasound because I think we all expected girl. But honestly, we're thrilled. Everything was perfect. His measurements were good, his little heart was beating away, and he was wiggling a lot. It took the technician a good 15-20 minutes to get a shot between the legs because he was crouched down with his legs crossed. Thank God she was determined to find the sex :)

Within the last few days, Cooper has been moving quite a bit. I even felt him kick on the outside with my hand a couple of days ago. Tim hasn't been able to catch him yet though. But we both talk to him calling him by name. Feeling his movements are the most wonderful thing I can ever imagine. He seems to be most active at night when I lay in bed.

We finally were able to visit Tim's parents this past weekend. Mom B loved hearing Cooper's heartbeat with the doppler. She is just thrilled like the rest of us.  Alan is hanging in there. Prayers always needed for him and the family. He was able to hear the heartbeat as well.

Well, here is a 21 week question update...Until next time...

Cravings: Still hooked on orange juice and pickles, different things on different days as well

Baby size: The length of a banana, about 10.5 ounces

Happy Things:  feeling movement, buying his first outfit

Sad things/Worries: when Sadie jumped on my stomach, my father in law

Weight Gain:  10 lbs.

Aches and Pains: Headaches, starting to swell a little

Mood: Pretty happy most of the time, some mood swings

Movement: getting more and more active

Maternity clothes? more and more each day

Sleep:  Getting more comfortable on my side

Blah, exhaustion

Well, here I am, 18 weeks and 1 day pregnant. Wow. Things are getting more exciting. I had felt a few flutters and then the other night I decided to use my doppler. I love hearing that beautiful heartbeat. I put the doppler on my belly and just a few seconds later. KICK! I definitely felt that. Baby doesn't like to be bothered apparently :) So if I want to feel the baby, use the doppler. He/she moves a bunch. I now feel some movement when I lay down at night too. It's amazing.

I'm feeling pretty weak lately. Yesterday at work I got so weak and lightheaded that I called the doctor. They asked me to come in and did some blood work. She said my symptoms could be normal but with my history of anemia, it could be back. I'm not awaiting my doctor's call for results. I almost hope it's my iron so it's something I can fix. Blah, so exhausted.

Here's an 18 week update:

Cravings: Still orange juice & pickles (only claussen)

Baby size: Bell pepper

Happy Things:  feeling movement

Sad things/Worries: my exhaustion, iron levels

Weight Gain:  8 lbs. eek!

Aches and Pains: Headaches

Mood: Pretty happy most of the time, some mood swings

Movement: a definitely kick and flutters

Maternity clothes? yep, but still loving my sweatpants too :)

Sleep:  Getting a little uncomfortable, but sleeping as much as I can.

11 days until boy/girl!!

Blue, pink, yellow, green....

I went to visit my OB today. Tim had to work, but my mom went along. I'm still holding at only a 3 lb. weight gain. The baby's heartbeat was strong at 158. It's beautiful every time I hear it. I could listen to it all the time. I got a flu shot, which hurt! Ouch! Pregnant women are at a high risk. I usually get a flu shot though and I definitely don't want to get sick while pregnant.

One of the first questions I asked the Dr. was..So when do we get to find out the sex? In 5 weeks, November 20! Time is flying by so I know that it will be here before we know it. I had feelings that it was a girl, and then feelings that it's a boy. Who knows, right?

I know it's early but I started a Target registry. I, of course, just signed up, didn't put anything on it. I know everything flies by, but I'm just so excited. I found some gender-neutral Winnie the Pooh bedding that I really like. I've also found some different things that I may have a friend paint on the nursery wall. I plan to decide on that once we find out the sex.

Anyway, that's all for now.

I'm a horrible blogger

I've been terrible at keeping up with us lately. I'm now 13 weeks 4 days pregnant and in my 2nd trimester. Our first ultrasound went great. The little one was growing perfectly, had a strong heartbeat of 178 and even wiggled a little. My next appt. is Oct. 15. I will be half way at the end of November so sometime then we should find out the sex! Time really is flying by.

I'm mostly writing tonight because I'm missing my daddy badly. My heart breaks every time I think of having the baby and him not being there. I know that I'm emotional due to hormones, but when I lost daddy one of my first thoughts was that he wouldn't be here for my children. I know he is watching over all of us and I believe he has already met our child. But, it still hurts. It always will.

I will try to be better at this whole blogging thing. Here is a 13 week update.

Cravings: Orange Juice, can't get enough.

Baby size: medium shrimp hehe

Happy Things:  hearing the heartbeat with my doppler :) Tim starting his job!

Sad things/Worries: Just missing my daddy, other than that, things are good.

Weight Gain: Still hanging at 3 pounds!

Aches and Pains: Nausea has worn down a lot, but still have it some

Mood: Pretty happy most of the time

Movement: I have felt a few flutters that I'm sure are baby!

Maternity clothes? I've started wearing jeans some, but sweat pants/yoga pants and t-shirts are also my best friend

Sleep:  Still sleeping a lot.
